Current Opportunities and Areas of Need

Tutor Kids in the Area!

a. Saturdays, 1-2pm – Join Achieve, a tutoring program in Linda Vista. Just show up, and help tutor kids with their schoolwork! No TB testing required. Contact Diane for more: diane.hu@gmail.com.

b. Doyle Elementary - Doyle is looking for tutors who can commit to come during the day on weekdays, between 7:45am and 2pm. Tutors work one-on-one with kids who are below level in their classes. TB testing is required to serve as a tutor (a test taken in the last 4 years is acceptable). Contact Angela for more: angelabortone@gmail.com.

Care for the Elderly

a. Saturday, October 3 at the Patrician - We're going to help do some fall decorating at the Patrician, a senior living community! TB test required. Contact Kathryn for more: kathrynfang@gmail.com or (949)701-7987.

b. Guardian Angels – For individuals who are able to make a larger commitment of 6 months, with a minimum of 3 hours per month. Volunteers are paired with an isolated senior in a residential living facility of their choosing, and do a variety of tasks: arts and crafts, help write letters, talk and listen and/or just be a friend. Ongoing Opportunities

Doyle Elementary School, General

Basic help around campus, from front office paperwork to lunch time recess monitors.

Doyle Elementary School: EARS Program

Help kids who are struggling with basic reading skills. 2 hours per week.

Ethnos Mentorship Program

The mentorship program provides an opportunity for us to serve those in need through tutoring and providing mentoship to children and teens from low income neighborhoods in our community. We are currently looking for a mentorship coordinator and mentors.

International English Conversation

If you are an native English speaker and would like to help those for whom English is a second language, this is a great opportunity. 1 hour per week.
