Getting Messy
Last week I read an interesting proverb and was inspired:
Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean,
but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox. (Prov. 14:4)
It seems a bit cryptic, to say the least. But as I was thinking on it, it seemed to point to this general idea: a good life- one with "abundance"- can get messy. Sure, we can live a non-messy life, one with a clean manger, but if we want to see some crops- well, we need to get some oxen.
Fall is about to start at Ethnos, and frankly I'm pretty excited: there's new growth, new direction, and new people in a number of our ministries. Yet the amount of work and faith and trust and courage is a bit daunting. It'd be easy to play it safe... but I don't think that's what I want. And I get the feeling that's not what we want as a church either.
God be with us as we embrace this Fall and all the challenges of faith and growth God lays before us!
Yours,
Yucan
