Getting back to the core message and witness

Submitted by yucan on Thu, 08/28/2008 - 07:00

I recently had two opposite experiences: someone encouraged me when I thought I had done something poorly, another person critiqued me when I though I had done something well. In both experiences, my ego was bruised somehow- in the first, it was prior to the human contact, in the second it was after the human contact. And in both, I had to come to Jesus, and think about His cross.

We end our summer series in Acts this week, and in dramatic fashion. We encounter not only the first death in the book, but also the longest speech recorded (which means it has something important to tell us). But there's more, because it gets us back to Jesus and His cross, giving us life and direction. Regardless of where we are and how we're feeling, I think this is our great need.

I look forward to our time together...

Yours,
Yucan
